Change the Bloki's appearance

To select a different layout

Only members with admin permission can change the Bloki’s appearance.

1.    In the Bloki toolbar, select Admin / Layouts.

2.    From the Set layout to drop-down list, pick a different layout. Notes:

·      The "plain" layout makes the Bloki look like a generic Web site, without the login button, page list, or other unique features. If you use that layout, you can log in at http://www.bloki.com/secure/login.jsp.

·      The "with folders" layouts filter the Pages list by folder. Click a different folder name to see its contents.

3.    Click the Apply button to switch to the new layout and return to the home page so you can see the results.

If you’re not happy with the results, repeat the above steps.

To customize a layout:

1.    In the Bloki toolbar, select Admin / Layouts.

2.    Under the Note for Advanced Users, click the customized link.

3.    Under Default Layouts, click the Customize link for the layout you want to customize. (To modify to modify a previously customized layout in the Personal Layouts list, see below.)

4.    Select Page / Save, give the page an appropriate name (see Create a new, blank page for limitations on page names) and title, and click the Save button.

5.    Click the Show Table Borders button (just to the right of the Insert Table button). This will reveal the normally invisible borders of the table used to organize elements on the page. (The "plain" layouts have no table.)

6.    Revise the layout as desired, or delete everything and start from scratch. Text or images added here will display on all pages. You may also add "Layout Tags," which appear as images when editing the layout but are replaced by HTML, text, links, or buttons in the actual Bloki pages. (See the Layout Tag Reference below for more information.)

7.    When finished customizing, select Page / Save, then Page / Exit.

To preview your changes while you’re customizing, save the layout, open another browser window, and go to the following URL, filling in the first blank with the name of your Bloki and the second with the name you used in step 4 above:

 http://______.bloki.com/index.jsp?name=home&layout=______

To modify a previously customized layout:

1.    In the Bloki toolbar, select Admin / Layouts.

2.    Under the Note for Advanced Users, click the customized link.

3.    Under Personal Layouts, click the appropriate Edit link.

4.    Click the Show Table Borders button (just to the right of the Insert Table button).

5.    Revise the layout as desired.

6.    When finished, select Page / Save, then Page / Exit.

To reset a customized default layout:

If you save a customized layout with the same name as a default layout, and then want to return to the defaults, simply delete the entry from the Personal Layouts section of the Customize Layouts page.

1.    In the Bloki toolbar, select Admin / Layouts.

2.    Under the Note for Advanced Users, click the customized link.

3.    Click the appropriate Delete link.
