1 File > New > Project > Blank; enter title and location as appropriate; leave first topic name First Topic.
2 In Project Manager, expand Project Files and delete First Topic.
3 File > Link > FrameMaker document.
4 In Project Manager, right-click .book, select Properties, check Convert FrameMaker Table of Contents, enter a name in the field next to "Create new associated TOC." Do the same for the index or glossary if they exist and you want them to appear in the RoboHelp output, then click OK.
5 In Project Manager, under Table of Contents, right-click the TOC name from the previous step and select Set as Default. Do the same for the index or glossary if you defined them.
6 In Project Manager, right-click FrameMaker book and select Update > Update All. This may take a while for a large book.
7 In Project Manager, delete any PDF-oriented front matter files (title page, copyright boilerplate, etc.) from the FrameMaker project.
8 File > Project Settings > Edit conversion settings for FrameMaker documents > Edit
9 Map all used styles to RoboHelp styles. Make notes of any styles for which there are no appropriate mappings. Note that if the highest-level heading in FrameMaker is e.g. ChapterTitle, that maps to Heading1, and if the second-highest-level heading is Heading 1, that maps to Heading2, etc.)
10In Other Settings, set the Topic Name Pattern to <$filename_no_ext>.
11In Single Source Layouts, if the primary layout (output format) is not correct, right-click the correct layout and select Set as Primary Layout.
